K-2 Early Literacy Workshops for Families

The District 11 Superintendent’s Team collaborated with Universal Literacy (ULit) Reading Coaches and the Early Literacy Team to provide District 11 Families with free early literacy workshops geared towards supporting Kindergarten to Grade 2 students.

These workshops provide information about early reading and writing acquisition and development, along with hands-on demonstrations of activities to try with your child at home. There are 5 presentation topics: Phonological/Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension. Each topic consists of a video presentation and a resource packet to enjoy at your own pace! Click on a topic below to begin a workshop.

As we continue to refine supports for you, please complete this survey to share your feedback for each topic. Click on the following link: District 11 Family Early Literacy Resources Feedback Survey
